The Iranian regime henchmen have lashed five men simultaneously in public in four locations in the western city of Kermanshah for eating in public in holy month of Ramadan, the state-run Mehr News Agency reported on Monday.
The judiciary official in the province was quoted as saying: "The five had been eating in public and the lashing sentence was carried out in four locations in city of Kermanshah."
Ali Ashraf Karimi said: "The sentences were carried out in Nowbahar Square for two of the convicts, one in Azadi Squar, one in Ferdowsi square and one person at the Motahari intersection.
Karimi did not identify the victims or any other information relating to the case.
The Iranian regime police also lashed a man 70 times in a prison last Sunday in northern city of Babolsar after a court sentenced him to the inhumane punishment for chewing gum in holy month of Ramadan.
The man had told the court that he agreed to pay a fine even though he had not been obliged to fast as he was travelling; however the court rejected his appeal.
Since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the Iranian regime police and members of Basij paramilitary force have been harassing the Iranian people on various pretexts. In a number of cases such encounters have lead to clashes between the youth and agents of the regime.

The increase in carrying out inhumane punishments and executions further indicates that the West's policy of appeasement while ignoring the catastrophic human rights situation in Iran has emboldened the ruling mullahs in Iran.
