Executions of a juvenile girl in Iran
Hassan Aghakhani, the lawyer of Razieh Ibrahimi, said, “Regarding this case we have once again issued our request to the 35th branch of the supreme court. If this request is denied the order of ‘qesas’ (retribution) will probably be carried out against my client after the holy month of Ramadan.”
Razieh Ibrahimi, who went to live with her husband at the age of 14 and became the mother of a child, shot and killed her husband while he was sleep four years ago after many years of family disputes. She was 17 at the time. After that she went to the gallows once and returned, and is now held in the Ahvaz Sepidar Prison.
On April 21, 2014, she was taken to the location of the order but seconds before being hanged it was cancelled since she was 17 at the time of the crime her case was sent to be reviewed once again. (State-run ISNA news agency – July 17, 2014)
