Executions on the rise in Iran under Rouhani
On the morning of Saturday, September 20th, at least 30 inmates, including two women and one man, were hanged in Zahedan Central Prison in southeast Iran. There is no information on the identities of the two executed women. The third inmate was Mr. Gholam-Hossein Mirshekar, around 50 years of age, detained in ward 7 of Zahedan Central Prison.
Reports from inside Iran indicate that there is a list of nearly 40 names that are to be executed in the coming days or weeks.
Despite the fact that United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon emphasized Iran stop executions, Khamenei’s henchmen have actually stepped up these measures.
