Iran: widespread labor and farmers’ protest

        Workers protests increasing across the country

Isfahan: farmers’ protest
More than 200 deprived farmers in the central city of Isfahan protested on Friday against lack of irrigation water which is damaging their crops.
Bandar-Abbas: labor protest
A group of workers of loading and unloading company of ’Shahrva’ in Bandar-Abbas rallied on Friday to protest unpaid salaries and benefits for past 6 months. They staged a sit-in outside the company’s headquarter demanding to be paid, but security forces intervened and clashed with the protesting workers.
Shahr-e Kord: workers’ protest
Discharged workers of ’Pak dairy Co’ staged a picket line outside the company’s mosque. Families of the workers also joined the protest campaign which lasted until 1600 hours that day.
Arak: Pars-Wagon workers strike
Some 900 workers of Pars-Wagon Company in Arak, Central Iran, went on strike on Saturday 27 Sept. 2014 protesting unpaid wages for past 3 months. The workers who had gathered outside the company headquarters on the adjacent street demanded to have the company’s administration to resign.
