Isfahan, the second largest city in Iran after the capital Tehran was again the scene of teachers’ protest only two month after the largest and the most significant nationwide teachers’ protest in Iran.
A number of teachers held a rally on Wednesday, June 17 with a significant number of female teachers taking part to follow up on their demands. An increase in wages and free education were two important requests raised by the teachers.
The protesting teachers chanted, “Poverty line is 30 million rials, while our wage is 10 million rials”.
