NCRI - The Iranian regime's henchmen hanged a group of six inmates in the main prison in the north-western city of Urumiyeh on Tuesday.
The six men, Farmarz Pashaei, Abdolvahab Dalir, Parviz Nik-Khoy, Abdulkarim Hercoli, Naghd-ali Rajaei and Rashid Moradi, were from the cities of Salmas, Urumiyeh and Naghadeh. Three of them were hanged while serving life sentences.
Prior to these executions, another six prisoners were hanged on June 14, the first anniversary of Hassan Rouhani's presidency. The victims, Hamed Aghaei, Saeed Varmazyari, Ibrahim Dalaei-Milan and Arash Ahmad-doosh were all hanged in Urumiyeh prison.
The family of Faramarz Pashaaei, who was hanged for drug smuggling, has voiced its opposition to the regime. It is common for the regime to execute political prisoners for alleged drug related charges.
The high rate of arbitrary group executions in Iran during the past year shows that the so-called 'moderation' of the Iranian regime is nothing more than a mirage.
Nearly 800 recorded executions in the first year of Hassan Rouhani's presidency, and his blatant defense of these atrocities, demonstrates that his sole mission is to preserve a medieval regime that would swiftly fall if it were to abandon execution, suppression and massacre.
