Iran: 7 prisoners have been executed in Shiraz

7 prisoners on death row were sent to the gallows in Shirz, Adel-Abad prison on Sunday and Tuesday of this week. 
On Sunday, May 10, 4 prisoners were hanged and on Tuesday, May 12, three more were put to death by hanging inside Adel-Abad prison in Shiraz, southern Iran. 
The identities of these 7 prisoners have not been revealed yet, but according to reports one of the prisoners was from Afghanistan where the other 6 are known to be Iranians. 
Judicial authorities have not responded to the inquiry about these executions. Human rights organizations and activists have expressed grave concern about the increasing number of executions, particularly those who have been done in secret without transparency or any announcements. This has exacerbated the concern of human rights organizations pointing to the authorities’ lack of responsiveness and transparency.
