The Peoples Mojahedin Organization of Iran announced on Monday that 14,200 people have lost their lives to Coronavirus in 236 cities across Iran. Mustafa Moin, head of the regime's Supreme Council of the Medical System and former Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in Rafsanjani and Khatami’s cabinets, wrote to Hassan Rouhani: “The losses of a large number of the medical community, as well as the higher mortality of patients compared to other countries, will always remain as a shame.” He warned, “pretending that the situation is normal and creating a false sense of security under the pretext of avoiding anxiety and stress could be dangerous, and the consequences of stress are far less than the sudden exposure to a human catastrophe.” Iran: Another Rebellion at Prison in Ahvaz Amid Coronavirus Outbreak On March 30, prisoners in Ahvaz Prison attempted to escape in fear of the coronavirus. Guards opened fire on the prisoners. Sound of gunshots was heard for some time, and parts of the prison were set on fire. Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran once again warned of a major catastrophe and crimes against humanity in Iranian prisons. She called for urgent action by the Secretary-General, the Security Council, the Human Rights Council, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the European Union to take measures to secure the release of all prisoners, especially political prisoners to saving their lives. Iran: 200 Women in Central Prison Go on Hunger Strike in Protest In an act of protest, some 200 women jailed in the Central Prison of Urmia went on hunger strike on Saturday after an inmate, Fatemeh Alizadeh, died of coronavirus infection. Female prisoners in the women’s ward of the Central Prison of Urmia turned down their lunch on Saturday, and threw it on the floor, declaring that they would be on hunger strike until they were granted temporary release due to the coronavirus outbreak.
