While even the regime’s Health Ministry states that there are no virus-free provinces and that most provincial centers are in red states, today, Rouhani speaking to the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT) announced, “Starting May 31, all office employees should return to work and the previous restriction will be lifted.” “Holy places and places of worship … will be opened from the day after Eid al-Fitr observing the Health Ministry’s instructions,” he added. Angry over the revelations about the truth of the Coronavirus tragedy in Iran, Rouhani said, “Some are trying to scare people in the country about the Coronavirus disease, we should not tolerate this.”
But the regime’s Health Minister speaking to the state-run daily, Hamshahri said today, “We are witnessing new outbreaks of the disease in the tropical provinces … In Khuzestan, things are not going in the right direction. We have talked to officials in provinces next to Khuzestan, namely Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari, Kohgiluyeh, and Boyer-Ahmad, and have given them necessary warnings about the new outbreak. We have seen cases in Sistan and Baluchestan in the village of Najafabad Khash that sounded the alarm bell for us.”
Speaking to the state-control outlet, Mowj, a spokesman for the Health Ministry, today said: “The situation in Khuzestan province is still red.” He admitted implicitly that the statistics were fictitious, saying: “The number of patients is much higher than one percent of the population … more scientific experiments need to be done. There have been no such studies in Iran yet. However, it seems that, as the Minister said, the number of patients has not reached 10 percent of the population.”
Thus, according to the Ministry of Health, the actual number of infected people is “much higher” than 850,000, but it has not reached 8.5 million and is somewhere between the two figures. Meanwhile, today, the same spokesman announced the number of victims as 133,521. In other words, the engineered statistics published are 6.5 to 65 times lower than the actual figures. The regime is very secretive and wants to keep everyone confused.
Lorestan Governor Seyed Mousa Khademi, told Mehr news agency today, “Every day, we have an increase in the number of those infected in some of the cities… Presently, in Borujerd and Delfan, we have not received good reports. The number of those infected in these cities is relatively higher.”
Dean of Medical Sciences University in Jiroft in Kerman Province told the state tv today, “With the increase in the number of those infected in the southern part of Kerman Province, this region is nearing the red status.”
Bushehr Medical Sciences University Dean told IRNA today, “When the number of those testing positive goes up, the number of hospitalizations probably goes up as well. This is not a good message. In the past three months since the spread of the virus in this province, 7,000 have gone to the hospital because of acute respiratory diseases.” The University’s Vice Dean also said, “Contrary to the past, when only four to five percent of test results were positive, now, more than 50 percent test positive. This shows the upward trend of the disease in Bushehr.”
IRNA wrote, “By the end of the month of Farvardin (April 19), the number of patients testing positive did not reach 100. But with the smart social distancing plan and by canceling the restrictions… between 20 to 79 people test positive every day.”
State-run media are voicing concern over the people’s demand for change. One of them, Arman daily, wrote today, “Most certainly, we will have to endure social, political, and economic changes during this phase and after the dangerous Coronavirus epidemic ends… our chances are minimal.”
