Iraq prevents burial of Iranian opposition members victims of missile attack

Although 160 days have passed since the last missile attack on Camp Liberty, the Iraqi Prime Ministry Committee tasked with suppression of Iranian opposition members is refusing to hand over the bodies of the victims of the attack to their family members and friends for burial.
Obstructing the burial of victims of the attack is a well-known method used by the committee to psychologically torture Camp Liberty residents.
During the December 26, 2013 criminal missile attack on the camp, in which 107mm rockets and 240mm missiles with very high destructive power were used, four members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), Mohammad-Javad Saleh-Tehrani, Mahmoud Bornafar, Abbas Namvar and Yahya Ziarati, were killed.
The obstructions on their burial are taking place while all legal and administrative stages for receiving the bodies have been completed and there are no justification for any delay. The extensive efforts by residents and their representatives have been futile.
Since the missile attack, in this regard, the residents have approached the Iraqi police headquarters for more than 50 times, their representatives and legal advisors have persistently taken up the issue with UNAMI monitors, and they have written numerous letters to the United Nations, the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, and the Iraqi government.
In addition to preventing the burial of the victims of the December missile attack, the agents of the Iraqi Prime Ministry are preventing the burial of PMOI member Mohammad Babaii who passed away on April 28 due to the medical siege of the camp and lack of free access to medical services by the residents.
The Iranian Resistance calls on the U.S. government, the United Nations and the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General for Iraq, as well as all human rights organizations to condemn this anti-human and anti-Islamic measure and to take immediate action to transfer of the corpses to the residents for burial.
