Political prisoners denounce German FM’s trip to Iran

NCRI – A group of political prisoners in Iran have written to Germany’s Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier to denounce his trip to Tehran over the weekend which coincides with a meeting of the Munich Security Conference (MSC) in the Iranian capital.
The following is the English translation of the text of the letter by the Iranian political prisoners:
 Frank-Walter Steinmeier
Foreign Minister
Berlin, Germany
Dear Foreign Minister,
How can you expect a regime that does not provide security to its own people and is indeed the killer and torturer of its own people to offer solutions to regional and international security crises?
If the Iranian regime can help in providing security to anyone it should start with its own people whereas it is now responding to people’s legitimate demands by arrests, imprisonment, torture and execution. In such circumstances what would you expect to achieve on security matters in your discussions with this regime?
While the [Iranian] regime is the leading exporter of terrorism to the region including Iraq, Syria and Yemen, how would you expect it to offer a solution?
We the political prisoners do not welcome your visit to Tehran and your meetings with the Iranian regime’s officials. However, if you should decide to go ahead with this visit, we wish to invite you to pay a visit to prisons and listen to us on the regime’s role in the international security.
Group of political prisoners from Gohardasht, Karaj Central and Evin prisons.
