Tehran: Women protesters clash with security forces

Tehran, protest against acid attacks


At 1400 local Tehran time, women and youth gathered outside the Interior Ministry in Fatemi Street to protest. They chanted 'Shame on you, State Security Forces', 'State Security Forces, where are the eyes of my sisters?'

The rally turned into clashes with State Security Force and several protesters were arrested. Previously, at 1000 a group of students gathered in Enghelab Square and shouted 'we must punish the perpetrators of this brutal crime.' The Security forces attacked the group and arrested a number of students.

In Isfahan, at 14.00, a large crowd gathered in the Sepah Street to protest acid attacks against women. Squads  of State Security Forces, including anti-riot units fired tear gas at the protesters and beat them.
