NCRI - The committee in charge of suppressing Camp Liberty residents, supervised by Faleh Fayyad, has intensified the blockade of Camp Liberty simultaneous with the transfer to Liberty on September 7 and 10 of a group of agents of the Iranian Intelligence Ministry and the terrorist Quds Force who are disguised as families of residents.
Accordingly, on Wednesday, September 9, Iraqi forces prevented four residents with appointments for eye-surgery from going to hospital in Baghdad. The appointments had been made a long time in advance.
On Thursday, September 10, the Iraqi forces prevented for the second consecutive week the entry of spare parts the residents had bought for repairing their generators. This is while all the Camp's infrastructures and facilities are dependent on the electricity generated by these generators.
On the same day, the suppressive committee prevented the entry of clothes purchased by the residents and spare parts needed for repair and maintenance of the camp's vehicles that either provide services to the camp or are used to take patients to hospital and fulfill the residents' most urgent needs.
In addition, the Iraqi forces refused to inspect the refrigerated vehicles that had brought in the residents' food stuff and did not allow their entry to the camp, stopping the truck at the checkpoint.
The abovementioned repressive and inhuman measures are in breach of humanitarian and human rights standards and in flagrant violation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the United Nations, the U.S. and the Government of Iraq on December 25, 2011, and the violators must be prosecuted and punished.
