Iran: woman political prisoner in dire condition at Evin Prison


The physical conditions of Ms. Sedighe Moradi, a political prisoner who was also thrown behind bars back in the 1980s due to her political affiliation, has been reported as dire. However, Evin Prison authorities are preventing her transfer to a hospital outside of prison or any medical treatment at all.
On Saturday, August 29th political prisoner Sedighe Moradi, 55 years of age and the mother of one child, suddenly suffered a severe drop in blood pressure for unknown reasons. Her blood reached the risky level of 6 over 4 and she was left in very critical and dangerous conditions.
Her cellmates rushed her to the Evin clinic yet she was returned to the ward after a short while without receiving any serious treatment. Ministry of Intelligence interrogators had prevented her transfer to a hospital outside of prison.
Despite the fact that the physical conditions of political prisoner Sedighe Moradi is currently very chronic and considered dangerous, she has been left to be in her prison cell.
This political prisoner, with a history of being thrown to jail back in the 1980s by the Iranian regime, is already suffering from numerous illnesses such as severe bone pains in the wrist and knee.
