• Nationwide strike in 50 cities and 23 provinces across Iran
May 22, 2018. Today a pre-call nationwied strike by truck owners across Iran is going on to protest agains the high prices on spare parts and increaed tolls while the transport fares are fixed.

• Municipality worker set himself ablaze to protest his disastrous economic situation
ABADAN, Iran, May 21, 2018. according to confirmed reports a municipality worker from third region of Abadan city (Zamen) to protest his disastrous livelihood condition and non payment of his salary, set himself on fire and is severely burnt, according to same reports, his coleague who was trying to save him also was bured.
• The arrest of 10 young girls and boys for participating in a party
RASHT, Iran, May 21, 2018. 10 girls and boys who participated in a mixed gender party were detained in an attack by the security forces to a party in the city of Rasht, Northern Iran, they were handed over to judiciary officials. The Rokna news agency reoported on May 22, 2018.
• U.S. Lays Out Demands for New Iran Deal
The Trump administration escalated its demands on Iran, putting Tehran on notice that any new nuclear deal would require it to stop enriching all uranium and halt its support for militant groups in the region.
The administration’s demands were outlined in a speech on Monday by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, which for the first time spelled out all of the administration’s requirements for a new agreement.
In his speech at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, the secretary of state said the administration wouldn’t try to renegotiate the old Iran deal. Instead, he outlined 12 basic requirements for a new deal, which toughened the nuclear demands and call for a wholesale change to Iran’s military posture in the region.
• Iran and Russia Consider Using Cryptocurrency to Evade US Sanctions
Iran has been struck by a monetary crisis in recent months after its fiat currency, the rial, plunged to historic lows against the US dollar leading up to US president Trump formally withdrawing from the Obama-era nuclear deal with Iran. Russia has also seen international sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union and a number of other countries in recent years following Russia’s military intervention in Ukraine.
In an effort to circumvent US-dollar-based commerce and escape their dependence on the global interbank system operated by SWIFT, Tehran is suggesting cryptocurrency as a solution in high-level discussions with Moscow, according to a report by Russian publication RBC citing major news agency Interfax.
• British-Iranian jailed in Tehran faces new charge: family
A British-Iranian woman detained in Iran has appeared in court to face a new charge of "spreading propaganda" against the government, according to her husband.
In a statement sent to Al Jazeera on Monday, Richard Ratcliffe said his wife, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, denied the latest charge after being summoned to a court in the capital, Tehran, on Saturday.
• Workers Of Abadan Shipping Company Protest To Expulsion In Abadan
On Sunday, May 20, 2018 a group of expelled workers from the Abadan Shipping Company gathered in front of the West Tehran Labor Office to protest against the uncertain situation of their employment conditions.
The work experience of each of the expelled workers is between 7 and 25 years.
• Plundered women take part in protest in Mashhad
Women and men plundered by the fraudulent IRGC-backed Caspian Credit Institute staged a protest in Mashhad, capital of Khorassan Razavi Province in northeastern Iran.
In protest to the plunder of their belongings by the Caspian Institute and its failure to reimburse them, the defrauded clients staged a gathering protest in Sajjad Blvd. of Mashhad outside the company’s Pamchal Branch.
• Life of Yaresan prisoner of conscience in danger in Qarchak
The life of a prisoner of conscience in the notorious Qarchak Prison for women is in danger.
Prisoner of conscience Shahnaz Kian Asl (Kiani) was transferred to the dispensary of Qarchak Prison of Varamin on Saturday, May 19, 2018, upon insistence of inmates, but was returned to the ward without receiving medical care.
