Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll Exceeds 397,000

 For the Third Black Week in a Row, Due to Khamenei’s Criminal and Plundering Policies, More Than 2,100 People Have Died With COVID-19 in the Past 24 Hours

• Tehran’s Behesht Zahra Cemetery: 40% of the country’s COVId-19 deaths are buried in Behesht Zahra Cemetery, and 12,000 have been transferred to other places after ritual washing of dead bodies. (Mehr news agency, August 31, 2021)
•  “The COVID-19 record in Kurdistan Province breaks again, and the number of patients exceeds 500 daily. Eight hundred and fifty out of 900 hospital beds are occupied. (IRNA news agency, August 31, 2021)
•  Ardabil University of Medical Sciences: The COVID-19 red status continues in the Province. The hospitals are full, and we will see an increase in deaths in the next few days. (IRNA, August 31, 2021)
•  Tarbiat Modares University (Tehran): About 3,000 students had received the COVID-19 vaccine when orders came (from the higher authorities) to halt the students’ vaccination. (State-run media, Salamat news, August 31, 2021)
•  Abadan University of Medical Sciences: We are facing a severe shortage of oxygen capsules. The oxygen generator of Abadan Taleghani Hospital and Valiasr Hospital of Khorramshahr is out of order, and more than 200 oxygen capsules are needed to supply oxygen to patients. (IRNA, August 31, 2021)
•  Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences: The number of COVID-19 patients has increased by 249% compared to the previous month, and the number of hospitalizations has increased by 136%. (ISNA news agency, August 31, 2021)

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 547 cities had exceeded 397,000. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 93,196, Khorasan Razavi 29,435, Isfahan 26,170, Khuzestan 24,406, Mazandaran 15,400, East Azerbaijan 14,248, Fars 14,127,West Azerbaijan 13,913, Lorestan 13,810, Gilan 13,640, Sistan and Baluchestan 11,765, Alborz 11,573, Qom 11,105, Kerman 10,298, Golestan 9,440, Kermanshah 6,968, Hormozgan 6,875, Yazd 6,833, Kurdistan 6,222, Semnan 5,785, North Khorasan 5,224, Ardabil 4,950, Bushehr 4,559, Zanjan 3,970, Ilam 3,908, and South Khorasan 3,606.
