Security atmosphere intensifies around Tehran prosecutor’s office

                 

Despite the announcement of officials that they would look into the demands of the political prisoners and Dervish family’s regarding the return of three exiled prisoners to the Gohardasht Prison in Karaj and sending the ill Darvish inmates to specialist medical centers, this morning the security atmosphere in streets that lead to the Tehran Public Prosecutor’s Office has intensified.
According to a report by the Majzooban Noor news agency, officials from the prosecutor’s office informed the protesters who have gathered outside the prosecutor’s office on Saturday that their demands would be met by 9:00 AM Sunday, 9 March. However, contrary to the promise made, the streets around the prosecutor’s office have been closed with the stationing of men and women security forces, fire trucks and anti-riot vehicles. They intend to prevent the Dervishes and family members of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience from staging another gathering.
The Dervishes in Evin Prison announced yesterday that if the officials go back on their promises, they will turn their hunger strike into a dry hunger strike. The Dervishes outside the prison supported this announcement.
Reports coming to the Majzooban Noor news agency indicate that the Gonabadi Dervishes from across the country are coming towards the Tehran prosecution’s office.
