Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 342 Cities Exceeds 69,300

  • Rouhani’s ridiculous warning against “Coronavirus fearmongering” and ludicrous boast that Iran’s situation is better than other countries
  • Chairman of Tehran City Council: Up to 70%, the blame for the reemergence of the Coronavirus outbreak is with the government
  • Deputy Head of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT) in Tehran: The situation in Tehran is red, and all the healthcare capacity is used, and more than 100 hospitals out of 180 are used for Coronavirus patients
  • Head of Khomeini Hospital: The number of patients has increased five times compared to the last three weeks, and they are in a worse condition
  • Alborz Governor: The situation is much more complicated than the first peak in April, the hospitals are full of Coronavirus patients, and the health staff are tired. In Alborz, we have reached a state of emergency, and a crisis hospital must be prepared.
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Saturday, July 11, 2020, that the Coronavirus fatalities in 342 cities across Iran are more than 69,300. The number of victims in Khorasan Razavi is 5,515, Khuzestan 5,510, Isfahan 3,300, Gilan 3,240, Mazandaran 3,065, Alborz 2,110, East Azerbaijan 2,065, Kermanshah 1,770, Golestan 1,735, Hamedan 1,710, and Fars 1,585. Reports from the Greater Tehran Prison (Fashafoyeh) indicate that the Coronavirus outbreak at the prison is reaching catastrophic levels, but the regime refuses to release the prisoners.
While the death toll and the number of those infected with Coronavirus increase daily, Rouhani warned against Coronavirus fearmongering, saying, “It is wrong to create anxiety and fear in people since it will hamper essential social, municipal, and economic activities.” While doctors and nurses and even the regime’s Health Minister are complaining about the lack of beds and medical facilities, Rouhani blatantly bragged about Iran being better off than other countries, saying, “The Central Bank has been able to meet the essential needs of the Health Ministry, providing exchange in Dollar and Euro, giving them remittances so they can order and buy the commodities. The calm that you see is because the domestic production line has been able to produce the needs; masks, disinfectants, gloves, N95, and ventilators are all produced domestically.”
In Tehran, Mohsen Rafsanjani, head of the city council, said, “In the first two months of the Coronavirus outbreak in Tehran, the daily death toll was about a 100, reaching as high as 120 … In June, it became clear that we were too proud of this, and this hurt us. So, we must quickly make up for our mistakes. The country’s health officials must admit this. The NCCT must listen and make (the necessary) decisions.” he added, “At the height of Coronavirus’s reemergence, the people’s fault is 30 percent, and the government’s share is 70 percent because it suddenly loosened its restrictions in favor of the virus.”
Tavakoli, Deputy Chief of NCCT in Tehran, told Fars news agency today, “Currently, the situation in Tehran is red, and all the healthcare capacity is used… Imam Sajjad, Shahriar, Hazrat-e Fatemeh, Robat Karim, Pakdasht Anonymous Martyrs, Mofteh Varamin, and Imam Hossein Baharestan hospitals are completely dedicated to Coronavirus patients … In Tehran Province and the three Universities of Medical Sciences, i.e. Tehran, Beheshti, and Iran, we have a total of 180 to 200 hospitals, of which more than 100 hospitals are involved with Coronavirus patients.”
The head of Khomeini Hospital told the state-run news site, Entekhab, today, “The number of patients has increased by five times compared to the last three weeks, and they are in a worse condition.” He said, “Thirty to 40 percent of the patients hospitalized are under the age of 40 … Non-Coronavirus patients who had postponed their treatments for a few months are also referring to the hospital. Still, unfortunately, given the new wave of the outbreak, there is no possibility to offer treatment to these patients.”
In Khorasan Razavi, the president of the Neyshabur School of Medical Sciences told the state-run “Astan-e Razavi” TV, yesterday, “The capacity of the Coronavirus ward in the ’22 Bahman’ Hospital is completed, and we no longer can receive Coronavirus patients.”
In Alborz, the high representative of the regime in the Province told ISNA news agency, yesterday, “The situation is much more difficult than the first peak in March. Alborz hospitals are full of Coronavirus patients, and the health care staff are exhausted … The field hospital must be set up within a week. We have reached a state of emergency in Alborz Province, and the crisis Hospital must also be prepared.”
In Mazandaran, according to the Mazandaran and Babol Universities of Medical Sciences, the number of Coronavirus inpatients in the Province has increased from about 300 to 1,000 in less than ten days,” reported IRNA news agency today.
In Ardabil, according to the state-run news agency, Mehr, yesterday, the president of the University of Medical Sciences announced the eruption of the second wave of the Coronavirus epidemic in the Province.
