Following the local and international support for the hunger striking political prisoner in Urumia, 85 women human rights activists issued statements calling on the regime to respond to the demands of the hunger striking political prisoners.
It has been nearly a month since 28 political prisoners have started a hunger strike to protest to the mixing of common prisoners with political prisoners and closing down the section that used to house only political prisoners.
Urumia prison, the third in the country, houses hundreds of prisoners, 28 of which have been on hunger strike for little less than a month.
