Dozens of prisoners in one of the Ghezel-Hesar prison Wards started a riot on Friday, Dec. 26th in protest to the harsh and inhumane condition of the prison. They used rods from a volleyball court to vandalize the walls and inside the ward. They said they don’t have enough warm clothing and covers to keep them from the chilling cold weather.
The suppressive security forces in the prison attacked the ward using batons and other suppressive instruments to suppress the riot beating them and injuring a number of them.
The prisoners said they are frustrated and fed up with the situation and demanded a changed in their conditions.
