Iran: Hiring foreign women as house maid is illegal

Female foreign workers are banned from working as maids

In a misogynist move, Iran’s labor ministry banned hiring female foreign workers as maids in Hotels and houses.
Ali Eghbali, labor ministry’s general director overseeing foreign laborers in the country said the ministry has not given work permit to foreign female workers from Philippine or other nations. Therefore if such women are found working in houses under any pretext, the offenders would face felony charges.
He described the fines and charges for committing this felony as five times the amount of daily salary for every day that the woman has worked in the house, and if it is repeated again, it would be 10 times the amount of the maid’s daily salary…
