Tehran: Student protest
Students at Science and Industrial University demonstrated today, Dec. 7th on the occasion of the Students Day. They chanted anti-regime slogans including all Political prisoners must be freed. Their demonstration disrupted a gathering by the government officials in the university.
Students at Tehran Art University also held a gathering in front of the University to honor the memory of three students who were killed on this day in 1953.

Iran: nationwide student protest
In commemoration of the Students’ Day, remembering the memory of three Iranian students who were killed back on Dec. 7, 1953 during a demonstration in Tehran University, students from across the country held gatherings and ceremonies while chanting anti-government slogans.
Some of the universities who were witness to this event were, Tehran University, U of Science and Industry, Sharif Industrial University, Allameh University, Art University, University of Medical Science and National University. Universities in other cities were also the scene of Student Day celebrations. Those cities include; Hamadan, Bandar-Abbas, Shahrood, Ahwaz and Babol. Congregations and anti-government demonstrations were held in these cities as well.
Despite the heavy presence of security forces, students managed to hold their annual day with chants of ’Death to the dictators, political prisoner must be freed and students die but wouldn’t be humiliated.

Tehran: honoring the Student Day in Bandar Abbas
On the occasion of Dec. 7th Students Day, students of Hormozgan University in Bandar Abbas held memorial ceremony today to honor the memory of three students killed on this day 61 years ago during a peaceful demonstration. This day has entered the Iranian calendar as a national day for students. Students of Hormozgan chanted in favor of political prisoners.
In Hamadan, students of Bu-Ali University held similar ceremonies protesting the suppression in their university.
In Ahwaz, students held congregations in front of College of Science and later rallied towards the College of Economy.

Student Day protest-Death to the dictator chant in Sari Agriculture University
Students of University of Sari, northern Iran, greeted the national 'Day of Students' with ’Death to the Dictators’ chant. The commemoration of ’Day of Students’ was held at the university’s main auditorium titled ’the hall of unknown martyrs of the University’ where hundreds of students attended the ceremony.
One student said 'the Basij paramilitary forces did not dare to confront or to harass the students today and the brave students chanted ’Death to the Dictators’ and disrupted the government official address to the Basij militants.

Iran: Loud student protest on the occasion of Student Day forced the University president to issue a statement
Students at Buali University, Hamadan continued their protest on the Students’ Day forcing the president to issue a statement regarding this cultural and political occasion. On the anniversary of the Students day, most of the university students of Buali University held a commemoration honoring the memory of 3 students who died during a peaceful demonstration in 1953. The efforts by the university authorities to calm the students were futile and finally the president who is backed by the government was forced to bow to the students’ will and issue a statement. But despite all this, the students booed him and continued with their gathering.

In commemoration of 'Student Day', Sunday, December 7, 2014, Medical Science University students where Mullahs’ presidentHassan Rouhani planned to give a speech broke the security barrier to get to the hall where Rouhani was giving a speech. The students chanted anti-government slogans including 'Independence, Freedom, Iranian Republic.'
This was a way for students to show their anger and frustration at the government. The suppressive security forces stationed in and around universities from early hours of morning out of fear of a wide spread unrest on this day, attacked the protesting students. The guards used batons to disperse the students and arrested anybody who was filming the scene with their mobile phone.

Despite heavy presence by the security and Basij paramilitary forces to put down any decent on this day, students managed to break the security barriers and hold their ceremonies.
