A call to save the lives of political prisoners Ayatollah Kazemaini, Mohsen Daneshpour, Alireza Rasouli
The poor condition of a great number of political prisoners has further deteriorated because they are deprived of medical care.
Mr. Mohsen Daneshpour Moqadam, 70, a political prisoner in Evin Prison , is recently suffering from amnesia due to blockage of brain veins because he has not received medical care and has had no access to physicians or suitable medicine. He was previously. He is a political prisoner of the 1980s that is suffering from various diseases, including acute cardiac and arthritis diseases, due to intolerable conditions of mullahs’ regime prisons. To intensify the pressure on this old prisoner, the henchmen have deprived him of all medical care although he is even unable to manage his personal daily routines.
In January 2010, Mohsen Daneshpour was arrested along with his son Ahmad Daneshpour, his wife, and two other relatives because of their family contacts with PMOI members.
Mr. Ahmad Daneshpour too is suffering from colon problems and has developed bleeding of the intestine and a sharp loss of weight due to torture, lack of medical care, and unsuitable food and is in a difficult condition.
Both Mohsen Daneshpour and his son Ahmad are condemned to death on the mullahs’ fabricated charge of ’Moharebeh’ (enmity with God). Two of his brothers have also been executed by the clerical regime in the 1980s for their support for the PMOI.
Ayatollah Kazemaini Boroujerdi is in grave condition in Evin Prison and is suffering of various diseases due to tortures and the prison conditions. His physical condition deteriorated and he lost a lot of weight as he staged a 16-day hunger strike to protest the suppression of women and the youth under the pretense of “promotion of virtue and prevention of vice”. However, instead of offering him medical care and transferring him to a hospital outside the prison, the henchmen even returned him from Evin prison’s infirmary back to his cell and are not offering him any medical care.
In Orumiyeh Prison, Alireza Rasouli, a Kurdish political prisoner, is in dire condition. He suffers from cancer, osteoporosis. He has gone on a hunger strike since 26 days ago to protest lack of medical services.
The Iranian Resistance calls on all international bodies and human rights organs to take urgent measures regarding the condition of political prisoners, especially those sick, who are living in difficult conditions.
