A member of Iran’s national football team has been arrested after taking part in a night party, and he remains behind bars to this day. Two of his teammates were able to escape the scene and are currently wanted by the police.
Efforts by the family of this footballer and his club officials to have him released have been futile.
On August 12, 2012 a former Iranian national footballer by the name of Alireza Vahedi Neekbakht was arrested at a night party and transferred to Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison . This player was then banned from taking part in football matches for a long period.
