NCRI - Workers in cities across Iran last week held a series of anti-regime protests over their unfair economic situation, demanding overdue wages and proper insurance.
Rallies took place in the cities of Arak, Shush, Kermanshah, Rafsanjan, and Lushan.
According to received reports, in one incident the regime’s suppressive forces attacked a protest by workers in the sugar cane factory in Shush, south-western Iran, injuring and arresting a number of workers.
Workers in the Danial factory in Shush on Sunday held a rally demanding six months of back pay. This was the third such protest by the factory’s workers. About half of the factory’s employees on Sunday announced that they were going on an indefinite strike until they receive their back pay.
Hundreds of workers on Saturday from the Sarcheshmeh copper production complex in Rafsanjan, south east Iran, protested outside the main gates of the complex.
In Arak, central Iran, workers from Arak Rail on Thursday rallied outside the factory demanding their overdue wages.
Laborers who were laid off from work from the city rail project in Kermanshah, western Iran, held an anti-regime protest at the end of last week.
Workers in the steel production company in Lushan, northern Iran, on Saturday rallied in front of the municipality building in protest to not receiving three months of wages.
Protests were not limited to workers in Iran. In recent weeks many groups of Iranian school and elementary school teachers and nurses have held protests over their atrocious economic conditions.
