Iran, Ardebil: Angry protest following a school fire

         Fire destroying most of a school building

Following a fire at a high school in a town close to Ardebil, a major city on the Iran-Turkish axis, northwest the country, angry residents protested the against slow response by related government authorities to put off the fire. The fire engulfed the school in the matter of minutes but it took a long time for fire department to respond.

 People had to get involve and try to extinguish the fire by themselves and with primitive tools. The result was a major destruction of most of the school building. People who took part in extinguishing the fire attacked the fire trucks when they arrived. The fire was almost out by the time the fire engines arrived at the scene. A teacher and 3 students were injured in the fire.
