Iran: nurses arrested in Tehran, four suspended from work

Nurses protesting outside Tehran’s Amir Elm Hospital
Officials of Hassan Rouhani ’s Health Ministry have suspended from work 4 nurses of Tehran’s Amir Elm Hospital. Two of these individuals were representatives of the Nurses Society in the board of directors of a leading nurse body.
This defensive measure by the regime is intended to create a climate of fear amongst Iran’s nursing community that have risen in various cities and are increasingly protesting for their rightful demands. But despite these repressive measures, the Nursing Association of Iran has called for a nationwide protest on Tuesday Aug. 4, 2015.
With the support of Ministry of Intelligence agents, regime authorities are now summoning each nurse one by one and demanding from them to fill bogus papers promising not to take part in any protest rallies.
It is worth noting that a Rouhani cabinet official has issued an order saying nurses taking part in these rallies must sign commitment papers saying they will stop such activities.
