Hamze was abducted by plainclothes agents a few days after trampling a flag of the Islamic republic, human rights advocates reported.

A year after this incident Hamze’s family was able to visit their son in prison. In recent years a number of Iranian Arabs have been killed under torture, including Gheiban Abidwai in Hamidiye, Mohammad Chaldawi, Reza Moghamesi, Mohammad Ka’bi and others, all from southwest Iran.
