Being accused of bogus charges by the Iranian regime’s judiciary branch, Othman Ismaeeli, a labor activist from the Kurdish region has been sentenced to one year behind bars. His crime has been “labor activism and contacting media outlets”.
A few months ago Othman Ismaeeli had issued reports of a number of Kurdish citizens being arrested on the verge of Labor Day, describing these measures as “systematic pressures imposed by security entities.”
This labor activist had also been arrested on 28 April 2015 by the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS/VEVAK) and released after being placed under interrogation and in jail for 12 days.
