Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll Exceeds 452,200

 Secretary of the Scientific Committee of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT): We have not yet reached the stage of herd immunity. We have to vaccinate 75% of the population, and there is still a long way to go. (Mehr news agency, October 9, 2021)

  • The NCCT headquarters in Qazvin: In the past 24 hours, the number of COVID-19 under- ventilator-patients in ICU has increased by 17%, and deaths by 100%. (Tasnim, October 9, 2021)
  • Gilan Medical University: The trend of the COVID-19 outbreak in Gilan is still fragile, and the virus is active. (Fars news agency, October 9, 2021)

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Saturday, October 9, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 547 cities in Iran had exceeded 452,200. The death toll in Tehran has reached 105,906, Khorasan Razavi 37,225, Isfahan 30,545, Khuzestan 27,725, Mazandaran 16,780, West Azerbaijan 16,363, Fars 16,320, East Azerbaijan 15,873, Gilan 15,830, Alborz 13,293, Kerman 12,002, Golestan 10,090, Central Province 8,243, Kurdistan 7,202, Bushehr 5,099, Qazvin 5,079, and Ilam 4,298.
