Khoram Abadi, the Iranian regime’s Deputy Attorney General has said: “If we are notified that some organizations use Telegram social network in their administrative affairs, then they will definitely be indicted and dealt with.”
According to ISNA news agency on September 21, on the sidelines of signing a memorandum of understanding between Attorneys General of Iran and Malaysia, Khoram Abadi told reporters that some organizations had been using this network which were warned over that.
He stressed that if it becomes clear that some organizations are using this messenger (Telegram) in their administrative affairs, they will definitely be indicted and dealt with.
He continued: “I hear that at some schools affiliated with the Ministry of Education, Telegram is used for communication between the students and schools and the parents and teachers community. I hereby warn them not to use this foreign messenger.”
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Intelligence’s “Mehr” news agency had reported in July that nearly 20 million people in Iran are using Telegram.
It should be pointed out that in an attempt to pave the way to shut down Telegram, Tasnim news agency quoted on August 23 from Mahmood Vaezi, Minister of Communications in Rouhani Government, as saying: “We don’t agree with the continuation of Telegram’s activity in Iran. Besides, it is not acceptable security-wise that the information related to 20 million Iranians be stored outside of Iran providing them with the possibility to manipulate these data.”
