Attaque mortelle au Camp Liberty ;

Maryam Rajavi: Hail to the martyrs and to those wounded in Camp Liberty

As the children of the Iranian nation, they made the ultimate sacrifice in the struggle overthrow of the mullahs’ religious dictatorship
Text of speech by Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, at the ceremony in Auvers-sur-Oise commemorating the martyrs of the missile attack on Camp Liberty
November 1, 2015
Greetings to you all.
From here, we extend our heartfelt salutations to the blood-drenched and devastated Liberty and its lofty martyrs.
Although Khamenei failed to achieve his evil objective, the Thursday evening attack on Camp Liberty was one the most horrific assaults against the PMOI to date. It was intended to massacre all of the freedom-fighters at Liberty.
This massive barrage of 80 missiles continued uninterrupted for 10 minutes. Dozens of missiles were setting everything on fire and destroying everywhere. The massive shockwaves demolished even the protective concrete walls, scattering them around.
It was a Tsunami of destruction and fire. It appeared as though all the crimes and atrocities perpetrated by Khomeini and Khamenei’s over the past three decades had been compressed into 10 minutes.
Nevertheless, God’s blessing and the residents’ vigilance, timely reaction and fighting spirit saved them from being massacred so that they could continue to inspire the people of Iran with their resistance and perseverance.
I do not know how to describe the life-and death struggle of women and men who stood up amid blood and fire?
I can only tell them: What you did in those breathtaking moments encapsulated your nation’s faith, passion and wherewithal for freedom.
In the darkness of that cold night, you were extinguishing the fire with primitive equipment, pulling out the bodies of your comrades from under the rubble, and running around with wounded and bleeding bodies.
Indeed, you had become one body and showed that there are no limits to the determination and motivation of human beings who have chosen to fight for freedom.
I was with you and you were in my thoughts at all hours of that night. I was with you in the bunkers, when paying last respects to the martyrs and when attending to the wounds of the injured. I saw your bloodied faces and clenched fists. And I saw you raising victory signs. And of course, I was not alone. Anyone who saw those pictures was overwhelmed with pride and honor.
Truly, you could you not have conveyed to all that the enemy had been defeated any better!
On that night, amid the fire, smoke, explosions and shockwaves, your unwavering resolve and your belief in the resistance and the fight for victory, displayed the magnificence of this glorious struggle for Iran’s freedom. You proved the PMOI’s steadfastness and wherewithal.
I salute you, your struggle and persistence. And I salute your martyred comrades.

AP: Iranian opposition mourns refugees killed in Iraq attack

The Associated Press
PARIS (AP) — Hundreds of people have gathered in Paris to honor members of an Iranian opposition group killed in an attack on an Iraqi camp.
The exiled group known as the People's Mujahedeen of Iran or MEK says the attack Thursday on Camp Liberty near the Baghdad international airport killed 23 members. Iraqi authorities say the barrage of rockets also killed three Iraqi soldiers.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned it and urged an investigation.
Maryam Rajavi, who heads the group's parent organization, France-based National Council of Resistance of Iran, led a commemoration ceremony in Paris on Sunday including hundreds of supporters from different countries.
Saddam Hussein welcomed the Iranian group into Iraq in the 1980s, but Iraq's current Shiite-led government considers their presence illegal.

U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher condemns missile attack on Camp Liberty

Rohrabacher Condemns Missile Attack on Camp Liberty
Oct 30, 2015 | Press Release
WASHINGTON – Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats, today released the following statement regarding Thursday’s deadly missile attack on an Iraq war refugee camp:
"Yesterday's rocket attack on the unarmed population inside Camp Liberty was a reprehensible act of terrorism, reportedly leaving more than 20 people dead. The residents of Camp Liberty have been subject to violence, harassment, and ill treatment for years. The latest attack should come as no surprise.
“The Iraqi government has utterly failed in its obligation to protect the civilian residents. Indeed, those who launched the attack have no more moral standing than the genocidal Islamic State itself. The U.S. State Department must hold the Iraqi government accountable. If the safety of these displaced residents cannot be assured, the U.S. should act swiftly to see that they are resettled in third countries.
“It is a moral outrage that the residents have been left exposed to constant harassment and indiscriminate attacks year after year. The desire of the Mullah regime in Iran to attack Camp Liberty has never been in doubt. Lamentably, an attack of this type was foreseeable.”

Statement of the Spokesperson on the attack on Camp Hurriya, Iraq

EU statement

Brussels, 30/10/2015
EU statement
30/10/2015
Several reports have emerged of a multiple rocket attack yesterday on and in the vicinity of Camp Hurriya in Iraq, which killed over 20 camp residents and injured a much larger number in the camp.
This attack on unarmed residents constitutes the gravest violation of the Camp’s security since October 2013.
We send our condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.
It is crucial that the Iraqi government fully investigate the incident and immediately step up security at the camp in line with its duty of protection of the camp residents under the December 2011 agreement with the United Nations .
The EU remains firmly committed to the well-being of the camp residents and to the UN-led process aiming at their relocation outside Iraq, which it has been politically and financially supporting as the main donor.

Chairman Agramunt’s statement on attack in Camp Liberty

Chairman of the EPP-CD Group in PACE, Pedro Agramunt
The Chairman of the EPP-CD Group in PACE, Pedro Agramunt, strongly condemns the killing of at least 20 people in shelling of Camp Liberty near Baghdad airport that provides shelter to thousands of defenseless Iranian refugees who have been kept in unsafe and inhuman conditions by the Iraqi Government over the past few years.
The attack is yet another gross violation of international humanitarian law, which clearly requires protection by Iraq and US.
Mr. Agramunt has repeatedly warned in the Council of Europe against the Iranian regime’s interference in Iraq and its interest to physically eliminate its opponents in Liberty.
This attack, along with other breaches of international law, must be swiftly investigated and those responsible held accountable. It is a moral outrage and a criminal act.
Restoring calm can be achieved through protecting urgently the residents of Camp Liberty as refugees in the European Union before they are all massacred by Iraqi forces under the control of the Iranian regime and by Iranian agents infiltrated in Iraq.
The Chairman of the largest political group in PACE repeats his demand to the Iraqi forces to immediately end the attacks and return to the path of peace. This madness must stop.
Mr. Agramunt sends his condolences to Mrs. Rajavi, the families of the killed and all the residents of Camp Liberty.
