Iran: Coronavirus Fatalities Surpass 134,500 in 460 Cities

For the first time, the number of infected in 24 hours reaches 7,000 and critically ill patients 5,000, according to official figures

  • Health Ministry: In the past 24 hours, the number of fatalities was 346, the number of infected 6,968, and the number of critically ill was 4,995. The daily trend in all provinces has gone upwards and we are witnessing unprecedented number of deaths. Average hospitalization is 17 per 100,000 and the number of deaths is 28 in one million.
  • Deputy Health Minister: Since the virus outbreak until a month ago, 35 million people had to deal with COVID-19 and another 50 million are the risk of infection.
  • Mohsen Hashemi, Head of Tehran City Council: The current situation is because the Government gave priority to the economy over the public’s hygiene and health.
  • West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University: The Province is in the worst phase of the virus spread. ICU beds are full and 23 died in the past 24 hours.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced this afternoon, Tuesday, October 27, 2020, that the number of Coronavirus fatalities in 460 cities had surpassed 134,500. The number of dead in Tehran was 32,941; in Khorasan Razavi, 10,107; in Khuzestan, 8,163; in Isfahan, 7,422; in Lorestan, 5,778; in Qom, 5835; in West Azerbaijn 3,917; in Alborz, 3,723; in Hamedan, 3,605; in Fars 3,526; in Central, 1,902; in Bushehr, 1,582; in Zanjan, 1,265, and in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, 1,030.
