Iran: COVID-19 Death Toll Surpasses 446,200

 Member of the Scientific Committee of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT): In one hospital in Tehran alone, we have more than 120 patients with black fungus. Usually, 60 to 70% of those patients die. (ISNA news agency, October 2, 2021)

  • Qazvin Medical University: In the past 24 hours, 500 new COVID-19 patients were identified, 126 more than the previous day. (Tasnim news agency, October 2, 2021)
  • Secretary of Ahvaz Health Council: If the COVID-19 vaccination is not done faster, we will face a new outbreak next month. (ISNA, October 2, 2021)
  • Kurdistan Medical University: After the first week of September, the Province has been affected by black fungus. So far, 27 patients have been identified, and one has died. (State Radio and TV news agency, October 2, 2021)
  • Kermanshah University: Currently, there are 1,094 COVID-19 patients hospitalized, 217 in ICU. In the last 24 hours. During the past 24 hours, 491 COVID-19 patients were temporarily hospitalized and were treated with Remdesivir. (ISNA, October 2, 2021)
  • Isfahan Medical University: In the past 24 hours, we have had identified 415 COVID-19 patients, of whom 319 were hospitalized, and 28 died. (Mehr news agency, October 2, 2021)

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Saturday, October 2, 2021, that the COVID-19 death toll in 547 cities had passed 446,200. In Tehran death toll has passed 104,576, Khorasan Razavi 36,655, Isfahan 29,910, Khuzestan 27,355, Fars 16,019, West Azerbaijan 16,008, East Azerbaijan 15,753, Gilan 15,620, Alborz 13,068, Sistan and Baluchestan 12,490, Qom 12,245, Kerman 11,817, Kermanshah 8,080, Yazd 7,373, Semnan 6,090, North Khorasan 5,734, Ardabil 5,610, Bushehr 5,044, Qazvin 4,974, South Khorasan 3,876, and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 3,395.
