Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 431 Cities Exceeds 103,000

  • Regime’s Health Minister: A new Coronavirus crisis has started in Qom in the past two days. We have a new surge in the disease in Tabriz. In Tehran, we have seen an increase in hospitalizations since yesterday. I hope this recent rise will not be another jarring challenge. (State-TV, September 13, 2020)
  • Deputy Health Minister: The number of hospitalizations per 100,000 was about 7.4; it has now increased to 9.3. The mortality rate was approximately 13.2, which has reached 13.9 per million (State-TV, September 13, 2020)
  • Hossein Gheshlaghi Member of the regime’s Supreme Medical Council: Another mistake that highly increases the risk of the spread of the virus and mortalities is the reopening of schools. Keeping them closed was a controlling factor in reducing the third wave of the Coronavirus. (Mehr news agency, September 14, 2020)
  • Head of Hamedan’s Nursing Organization: The Corona-reward about which the media made so much noise was nothing but an insult to nurses to the point that many of our colleagues returned this amount to provide hygiene items and personal protective equipment for the people. According to the state-run daily, Vatan-e Emruz, today, at the reopening ceremony of the universities, a student wrote to Rouhani: “While the state of Coronavirus is red, everything has returned to normal. Schools are open, government offices are open, people are back to work, and you are the only one who has kept his distance from the people. How is it that the President forces millions of students to attend schools, but he is not willing to attend the reopening ceremony of the school year?”
